This smartphone is called the "Red Droid Incredible 2" and is just like the name suggests. It is covered with a cranberry red exterior. It looks a bit strange for some people, but this is a new project from the Motorola company, a new subsidiary of Google. Breaking Out The Red Paint.
What is it with Motorola? This upcoming smartphone has some flair to it if you happen to be Santa Claus. It also is going to be sold on the Verizon network. The probable answer to this is the "other" name for Verizon, "Big Red". That coupled with the world-famous "Holiday Spirit" is seemingly creating a vanity smartphone for the masses. It is also a color to appeal to the female side of humanity. It could be considered a dark pink color which is a favorite for the dames.
Some Features Of The Droid.
What does this smartphone have to offer the astute smartphone shopper? Apart from the aforementioned splash of color, it looks to be the same as the earlier model of Incredible 2. The screen is not one of those plain LCD models. This handset has a "Super" LCD material that is comparable to the AMOLED screens that Samsung makes. It does not have a "super" large screen. It is four inches, which is half an inch larger than the iPhone. The clarity could have been better for this Motorola machine. It has 800 by 480 pixels of power. HTC smartphones will be coming out with more clarity than that very soon. The good news is that the display comes with all the goodies, except for swype input.
The Incredible 2 Will Be Running Android.
The bad news is that this smartphone may come with Android 2.2 Froyo. Ice Cream Sandwich has already been released and the ROMS are being worked on by faithful programmers. There is really no excuse to have version 2.2 on this upcoming red version of the Incredible 2. An update has supposedly been issued by Verizon for the earlier model Droid Incredible 2 so this red model is sure to have it one way or the other. What Does The Hardware Look Like?
The internals on the red Incredible 2 are basic. There is a one gigahertz processor made by the same people that make chips for HTC. It is not a dual core model, so beware of draining the battery too quickly. This smartphone is going to be out in a few days on the Verizon network. The first Incredible 2 is now free on contract. There is no word on the price for this red model.
