The Android mobile operating system is a very popular platform that is taking the world by storm. Google gives it out for free to cell carriers. The Android app market is brimming with things you can download to make a cell phone or tablet more productive or fun. But there are some apps that need to be avoided.
Being Careful With Your Smartphone:
Not everyone in the Android market has good intentions and it pays to be aware. Some Android apps just seem to be created with inferior design even if the programmer did not have evil intentions. The ones who do have been identified in the Android marketplace. Some people take legitimate apps and repackage them with malware inside. This is a sneaky thing to do. Some of the apps are from a username of "Myournet". This person is responsible for the Droid Dream malware attack and their work has been pulled from the Android market. Nevertheless, be on the lookout for any more apps bearing a Myournet username.
Some Android Apps Lack Good Development:
One Android app that does not seem to be created with a lot of planning in mind is the MOG music app. Those who have downloaded it claim it plays unwanted music. The graphics are set up in such a way that important screen items are blocked. The download and "play album" button are blocked on the MOG app. The app will begin to play random music without any input from the user. The search options are less than desirable, since some of the most popular are sometimes at the bottom of the list of choices. MOG says that the problem is with Android 2.2. Nevertheless, it is buggy and that is a problem. Some people have to turn off their phone to get things to work properly again.
Google Voice Is Not For Everyone:
The "Google voice" app is surprisingly not getting glowing reviews. Some people say it outright stops working. It will stop receiving texts and refuses to work unless the user cycles their data connection. At times that does work either and the Android smartphone will need to be turned completely off and back on again. Some people will use it for voice mail, but not much else. Some say the voice recognition feature is terrible. Some web sites are listing funny the bloopers that Google Voice has done, including what is called the "Porky Pig" translation. It said, "Low testing then that we will require what what what what what was asking but our answer will be okay.". There are more, so be careful with the Google Voice Android app.
